BRENT T. MCLAURIN, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Dr. McLaurin is a native of Sumter, SC. He obtained both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. He continued his training in Houston, Texas at Baylor College of Medicine where he also served as faculty working with Drs Michael DeBakey and Denton Cooley. He was awarded the position of Chief Medical Resident during that time. He finished his training at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1998, and stayed on to serve as faculty the following year.
He began his private practice career in Greenville in 1999. He moved to Anderson in 2001 to join a large cardiology practice. After several years practicing as a partner, in 2006 he decided to branch out on his own to better serve the Anderson community. Since that time he has been able to develop an internationally acclaimed research program in partnership with AnMed Health where he serves as Medical Director of the Research Department. His work has been published in many major medical journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Journal of American College of Cardiology, Journal of American Medical Association, European Journal of Heart Failure, and Circulation.
Dr. McLaurin specializes in invasive and interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and peripheral/carotid interventions. He is Level II trained in CT Angiography. He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology.
He and his wife Sonya have four children: the oldest attends the University of South Carolina; the two middle children are a junior and senior in high school; and their youngest is in the 8th grade.
CARL T. LOMBOY, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Dr Lomboy is a "transplanted yankee" originally from Allentown, PA. After leaving high school early as an Early Admissions Student, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia. A die hard Cavalier, he remained at the University of Virginia earning his Doctor of Medicine degree. His postgraduate year was spent at the University of Connecticut Health Sciences Center in Farmington, CT and his residency was completed at the Lehigh Valley Affiliated Hospitals in Allentown, PA. Dr. Lomboy's cardiology training was at The Medical College of Pennsylvania/Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA where he was honored to serve as its Chief Cardiology Fellow during his interventional year in 1993.
He has spent the last 17 years in private practice as a partner with Hickory Cardiology Associates in Hickory, NC During his time there, he helped grow the group from three partners and one office serving two hospitals to twelve partners with five offices serving five hospitals. Dr. Lomboy joined Anderson Heart in July of 2010.
Dr. Lomboy is board-certified in Interventional Cardiology. He specializes in invasive and interventional cardiology, diagnostic echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and peripheral interventions.
He and his wife Bonnie have three children: the oldest son attends the Brody School of Medicine; the middle son attends the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; and their daughter is a junior in high school.
CORRINNA O'BANNON, MSN, ACNP
Corrinna is originally from Donalds, South Carolina. She began her nursing career after receiving her Associate Degree in Nursing from Greenville Technical College in 1990. After several years as an ICU nurse she continued her education graduating from Clemson University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Continuing her nursing career in ICU she also served for 10 years as a Navy nurse in the U.S. Naval Reserves. She obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing 2005 from the University of South Carolina. Corrinna joined Anderson Heart in December of 2007.
She, her husband Skipper, and their three children live in Honea Path, South Carolina.
Jenny Leonard MSN, AGPCNP-BC
Jenny is originally from Greenville, South Carolina. She fell in love with nursing while working as a nurses’ aide as she completed her first Bachelor’s degree in 2004 at Winthrop University, studying biology. From there, she continued on to the Medical University of South Carolina and received a second Bachelor’s degree in 2006, this time in nursing. After working several years as a nurse in the Intensive Care setting and traveling the country, she moved back to South Carolina. She obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing from Clemson University in 2013 and joined Anderson Heart in 2014 as a board certified adult and geriatric primary care nurse practitioner.
